    Antique 1820 Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe 2 Volumes Preface by Barbauld

    In two volumes, complete, leather covers and bindings. Beautiful new edition with preface by Anna Laetitia Barbauld. All pages are impeccable, binding is sturdy. Book covers are complete and intact however front covers have detached, unrestored. Leather is dry and fragile. Published and printed in London by C. Baldwin. First page of this beautiful novel by Daniel Defoe is entitled "The Life and Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, of York, Mariner: Who lived Eight-and Twenty Years, All Alone, on an Uninhabited Island, Near the Mouth of the Great River Oroonoque". Includes an essay and preface by Anna Laetitia Barbauld, famous English woman author and literary critic who lived 1743-1825. These two volumes are part of Barbauld's anthology of British novelists. Books come from the old Fraser Institute Library in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They have the library tag and donation name H. J. Tiffin, ESQ. Books measure 4 1/4" X 6 1/2".
